Jacob, Allison and the Team
First of all, my wife and I would like to thank you for visiting this website and learning more about our event. The Lord has blessed my family and I in many ways, and most people label something like this as “giving back.” And we do give — time, energy, and money. But the truth is that through this endeavor we have received as much as we have given. Making a life altering positive change for a hero and his family is a rewarding endeavor to undertake.
We have a great team of people who work very hard to make this a first class event, and no one on our team ever forgets the goal: To raise money for our wounded heroes. While we have a great time playing golf, we build up and honor those who have given so much of themselves in order for us to be able to knock a ball around a course.
My wife Allison is the co-founder of this event and has put in a ton of effort to see things come together. Our team includes many family members and close friends who all do small parts to make the Swings for Soldiers Classic a success.
I am deeply indebted to everyone who has worked to make this event a success and I thank you for considering joining us in this mission.
The Swings for Soldiers Classic
The Swings for Soldiers Classic was born out of two loves: A love for the men and women who selflessly sacrifice for us, and a love of the game of golf. We believe wholeheartedly in the mission of supporting and taking care of those who have risked everything for our freedom. They risk it all, and many have given greatly. The servicemen and women that we support through this event have had their lives change forever in battle. They’ve been through a life-changing negative event. Our goal is to help give them a life-changing positive event. What an awesome opportunity!
Homes For Our Troops
Homes For Our Troops is currently the sole beneficiary of the Swings for Soldiers Classic, and Jacob serves on the campaign committee for the current “100 More… Homes for Our Troops” campaign. The mission is simple: To build specially adapted homes for our wounded veterans. The need is larger than ever. Many of our servicemen and women are coming home without the mobility needed to operate in their previous home.
This past summer, Allison and Jacob had the privilege of joining HFOT on one of their Build Brigades in Evansville, IN. This particular Brigade was very special to them, as the proceeds from the 2012 Swings for Soldiers Classic were helping to build this new home for Army SGT Kenneth Harker and his family. It was truly amazing to join their efforts and witness, first-hand, what goes into building these much-needed homes.
We hope you will join us in supporting the mission! Learn more about Homes for Our Troops at www.hfotusa.org.
